COMMUNITY THERAPEUTIC HORSEMANSHIP PROGRAM

Rein In A Dream, our Therapeutic Horsemanship Program, was developed by Perkins as a tool to work with children with mental health,  behavioral, social, emotional, and attention  problems.  This Equine Facilitated Experiential Learning Program promotes personal exploration of feelings and behaviors in a safe environment.  The use of animals in a therapeutic setting is proven very effective in reaching at risk youth.  Studies show that a strong supportive relationship between the child and animal can be significant in assisting these children to overcome a range of mental health challenges.  Our stables are home to 7 horses.  We have both outdoor riding areas and a large, lighted indoor arena that allows for year-round instruction.
